Repossession

Title: Repossession (The Keepers Trilogy #1)
Author: Rachael Wade
Genre: New Adult, Sci-Fi, Apocalyptic, Romance
Tour Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Synopsis:
Skylla only knows that she has been kidnapped and held prisoner by the foreign invaders and their human allies. And that the world is ending. Or so the humans think. The invaders have made it clear that their arrival is one of hostile intent, and as their takeover spreads, so does the panic across the globe. No one knows how to defeat them, or if it’s even sane to try.

Jet, Skylla’s human captor, is up for the challenge, though. A traitor in Skylla’s eyes, he is working with them. But Jet has his own agenda; one that doesn’t include babysitting Skylla or helping the enemies. And as the human race struggles to keep the invaders from achieving their goal, Jet and Skylla’s paths collide to reveal the truth behind Skylla’s abduction.

The invaders are headed for the water. Jet is headed for the water. But that’s the last place Skylla wants to be. That’s where the future of humanity lies, and where the bridge to their yesterdays was burned. On a mission to take back what is rightfully theirs, Earth’s population is determined to make sure this isn’t the end. But some endings were never theirs to begin with.

Excerpt:
The quiet drone of a train’s chugging grew louder as it approached but was still eerily muted, a graceful ghost passing in the night. Minimal light shone from the front car as Jet stepped forward to align himself with its path.
“How do we know where it stops?” I asked, positioning myself next to him.
“We don’t.”
“So …”
“So we have to make a run for it.”
“You mean jump?”
“Yup.”
“As in … jump onto a moving train.”
“Yup.”
“This is crazy.”
“A dangerously disturbing level of crazy. No worries, baby.” He patted my shoulder with a smartass grin. “It’s just your area of expertise.” I narrowed my eyes at him, storing that one away for a future retaliation jab of my own.
Adrenaline spiked as the train grew closer, every nerve ending a live wire to the heart pounding violently in my chest. Jet grabbed my hand, glancing at my gun. “I’ll go first. Once I get a good grip, I’ll haul you up. Whatever you do, don’t stop running. And don’t let go.”
“I should go first,” I raised my voice to speak over the rumbling of the track. “You’re hurt. You’re going to need upper body strength.”
“I’m fine. Don’t fight me on this.”
Blood pounded hot in my ears, my heart rate jumping and hair blowing wildly around my cheeks as the train began to whizz by. The rush in my veins propelled me forward the moment I spotted an opportunity, and I launched into a controlled sprint. Springing upward, I lunged forward and latched on to the side of the car, the metal handle slipping beneath my sweaty grip. I shrieked and latched on harder, hearing Jet’s voice thunder behind me. The train’s vibrations rattled against my chest, sending my senses on high alert.
Clenching the handle until my knuckles hurt, I bit down on my lip to ease the tension and yanked hard to the right, feeling a heavy latch click and shift beneath my fingers. The door slid open and I hauled myself up and inside, grabbing onto the side of the frame to steady myself before flipping around to reach for Jet. He was running full speed after me, his arms pumping tight and sharp at his sides as he tore forward.
“Come on!” I yelled, extending one arm. It only took him a few seconds to catch up, his agile form sending his body off the ground and up onto the car before I could blink. With a loud shout, he clamped onto my arm, his other hand flying over his chest to cradle his gun. I was thrown onto my back with a thud before I knew what hit me, his body covering mine with a crash that left me seeing stars.
“Fucking crazy woman!” he shouted over the rail’s relentless roar, louder now that we were level with it. “What the hell do you think you’re doing?” His heat pressed into me, his arms caging me in as he stared down into my eyes, his nose aligned with mine.
“Fulfilling my sole purpose to drive you mad, it seems.” I couldn’t help it. The rush sent me sky-high and an explosive laugh escaped my lungs. I shook beneath him, my breath heaving against his chest.
“Damn it, Skylla!” He dropped his head as he gasped for air. “Seriously!” he added for effect, but there was nothing serious in his voice now. He was laughing too, just as deep, just as euphorically as I was, and I decided right then that the sound of Jet’s laugh was almost as sexy as his full lips and ripped body.
“Wanna go again?”
“You’re reckless. I can’t even look at you.”
“You’re crushing me.”
His head lifted, those blue eyes settling on me as his laughter slowed. “You deserve it.”
My hand shifted and found his injured hip; my fingers brushed the bandage through his shirt. He flinched. “And you need to admit when you need help.”
Pushing himself up, he rolled off me and sat back on his heels, wincing and gripping his side, his lips pulling back and teeth visibly grinding with the motion. I sat up and scooted forward, mindful of the gaping railcar door. I reached up and slid it shut, slamming it with a loud grunt until I felt it lock into place. The loud rumble of the wheels hitting the track was muted now, but the rattling hum still thumped away from outside, filling the dimly lit car with a shaky buzz.
“I’m fine,” he said.
“Fine. Play it your way. I’m going to see if I can find you some medicine.”
I helped push him backward to prop him against the wall, peeling his backpack from his shoulders first. “Try and rest, I’ll see what I can find out.”
“I’m not letting you wander around these cars alone. Not fuckin’ happening.”
“If you don’t rest and get medicine for that wound soon, I’ll be stuck wandering everywhere alone. That ointment won’t cut it. You’re going to need antibiotics. It’s starting to get infected.”
His gaze snapped up to mine and held my stare. “Finger on the trigger.”
“Fire on your mark.” I smirked.

Hope Series

Title-Sovereign Hope
Series-Hope Series Book #1
By- Frankie Rose
Publication Date- July 1, 2012

Blurb-
Everyone has a soul

Some are just worth more than others

Farley Hope was seventeen when her mother disappeared. In the last six months not much has changed, except that her eighteenth birthday came and went and still no sign of Moira. Her life is just as complicated as it always was. Since her father died in a car crash before she was even born, she’s officially parentless, and to top it all off she’s still suffering from the hallucinations. Mind-splitting, vivid hallucinations- the kind prone to induce night terrors and leave you whimpering under your covers like a baby.

The last thing on her mind is boys. Farley is on break from St. Judes’ when she meets Daniel. It’s not some casual run in at a party, or even a blind date with friends, though. Daniel is the guy following her in his 1970′s Dodge Charger; the guy standing at her window in the LA lunch hour traffic, trying to persuade her to leave everything behind and follow him. And he's hot as all hell.

The moment Farley lays eyes on Daniel, everything changes. He is cold and withdrawn, but there are cracks in his harsh veneer- cracks that betray the secrets he is trying so hard to hide. Farley is drawn into a world that will shake apart everything she thought she ever knew. There are truths out there that she must learn: that a person’s soul is their only real currency, and there are people who would do anything to take hers; that loving someone can hurt so much more than hating them; but, most importantly, when your future is predestined, there is little you can do to change it.

Farley Hope is prophesied.

Her coming has been awaited for hundreds of years.

She is destined to end the tyranny of the Soul Reavers.

To do so she must die.

~~Kj's Review~~
Farley’s mom disappeared, her life is a mess and now someone is following her. On the good side a really hot guy tries to rescue her, she resists him, but ends up where he wanted to take her for safety’s sake. She doesn’t know who to trust, or even who can answer her questions, and she has quite a few. As she starts to trust and have her questions answered she realizes that she is very attracted to Daniel. But he is cold and holds himself separate and it seems there is no way to change it.
I really enjoyed this book, Frankie Rose is a master storyteller. I completely love this story, I had no inkling of what was going to happen next so every turn was exciting. I recommend this book highly,  I think everyone should go out and get it.  I want to thank Frankie Rose for giving me her book to read and review, it's terrific!

Meet The Author

As a child, I was always accused of being bookish because I wore glasses- big, horrible, ugly ones with too-thick lenses. Those kids, the super smart ones who always know which tender insecurities to poke at in order to provoke life-long complexes, used to accuse me of reading too many books and that my eyes were going to rot out of my head (their words, not mine!)

The truth of the matter was a little more embarrassing: I used to sit too close to the T.V. That was the reason why I had to wear glasses, but kids don’t really care about small, insignificant details like the truth, and so I was labelled a nerd. The label kinda stuck, and after some sage advice from my awesome nana (nana, you rock!) I decided that if I was going to be abused for my supposed literary obsession, I might as well develop one.

I guess that’s how I got into books and reading at an early age. Since then, I’ve been ripping through books like they’re going out of fashion, which, thankfully, they’re not. Good thing, too, because I’m a writer now, and books are my business!

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me on my journey- look for your names in the acknowledgements!

Creatura Blog Tour & Giveaway

Title: Creatura
Author: Nely Cab
Genre: Young Adult, Fantasy
Tour Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Blurb:
Isis can control her dreams. Or she could—until recently. The creature in her nightmares has been haunting her for months. As if being dumped wasn’t bad enough, now she dreads going to sleep. She decides to confront the creature and win back some of her peace; only, she finds that he’s not a monster and he’s not a dream.
A sacrifice for love, a shocking discovery and a jealous ex-boyfriend blur the lines between reality and dreams, making it hard to tell who the real monsters are.
Who would’ve known…that sometimes love is lethal?

Excerpt:
At the entrance to the school, I found David sitting on a red brick bench, waiting for me.
“Morning,” I said, looking away for a second as I wiped the girlish grin from my face. I was remembering last night’s kiss.
“Good morning.”
He opened the glass doors for me, then took my hand and asked me to follow him to a semi-empty area across from the glass doors and windows. He gave me a gentle push and my back touched the wall. He leaned close and placed his finger on my lips. His touch sent tiny electrical shocks through every fiber of my body.
“I crave your lips. Give me but one taste and I’ll ask no more.”
I shook my head turned away, but he turned it back so that I was looking straight into his eyes.
“Why do you insist on this?” I asked.
“Why else would I crave your lips if I didn’t already know the sweet nectar that they possess?”
“No,” I said, shutting my eyes to keep from starring into his mesmerizing blue gaze. “It’s forbidden.”
“It’s as forbidden as the illicit fruit of Hades, but even he has eaten from it.”

~~Kj's Review~~
Isis hasn’t slept in a while, there is a monster in her dreams and it’s not helping matters. But after being medicated she meets her “monster”, turns out he’s a god. David appears in her day to day life and Isis really starts learning interesting things; not just about David, but about herself as well. What will happen with a love that isn’t supposed to be permitted, what will happen to Isis?
This was an interesting story, I really liked the background to David’s family. I would love to see where this goes as I became fascinated by the thought of what may happen with Isis. I really need to see what is going to happen next. I would like to thank Nely Cab for the chance to read and review her book.

~~Kj's Review~~
I love the fact that these books start up where the others left off, so we have no lag time and can jump right in again. There is still a huge threat to the government and it isn't going away any time soon,as are they having an issue locating him. Palta wants to live her life, maybe not normally but geez a girl has to have some fun. Of course as always shes gets into trouble and needs saving, but this time the saving comes from a place nobody expected.
I love this series, I have been invested in it since the first paragraph of Proximity. I would love to know so much more about all of the main characters, there is is so much to imagine here for me. M.A. George has done a beautiful job creating a world that we all have come to love. Palta is an in your face type of person who stirs up emotion in everyone....reader included. I want to thank Ms George for giving me her book to read and review, it has been my honor. These books will be on my favorites list forever, I can see myself reading and rereading for years to come.

We have a guest post today M.A. George's top ten quotes from the Proximity Series

As a general rule in life, I try not to take myself too seriously.  Fortunately, my lead characters and I seem to see eye-to-eye on that matter.  Even when things are looking pretty grim, none of us can seem to keep our wise-cracking yaps shut.  Thus practically all of my favorite quotes and passages from the Proximity series are at least a little on the snarky side.  I might throw in one serious one, just to prove I’m capable of writing something profound.  Wait a second, maybe “profound” is too strong a word…I’m not quite sure I can live up to that promise.  I had best get on with the quotes, before I dig myself a hole I’ll never get out of…Enjoy! J
1)      Vitality
“Sometimes small sacrifices are necessary to incite great change.” He shrugged it off as an inconsequential detail.
“‘Small sacrifices?’” I fluttered an incredulous blink.  “Wow…You have officially solidified yourself as the greatest asshole who ever lived.”
“Speaking of sacrifices…” He seemed to be growing tired of our lovely conversation.  “I suppose you’re aware why you’re here.”
“No, actually,” my eyes shifted curiously about the room.  “I must have missed the sacrificial alter on the way in.”

2)      Relativity
I didn’t intend it to come out sarcastically, but I guess that’s just where my tone of voice automatically goes these days.

3)   Vitality
“I do not see the appeal of this ridiculous frivolity…”  He scowled as only Nangí could do, when surrounded by rowdy merriment.
“How piously nonconformist of you,” I rolled my eyes.  “Am I going to have to flap my arms and cluck like a chicken?”
“As usual, I have no idea what you mean by that…but for Heaven’s sake, no,” he eyed me sternly.  “Don’t do whatever it is you’re so benevolently offering to do.”

4)      Relativity
“Let me rephrase the question…”  He made a show of clearing his throat, crossing his arms in front of him.  “Whom do you not sense in the area?”
“You have lost the right to ask me any questions, old man,” I snarled through clenched teeth, teetering on my good leg as I hobbled to a nearby tree.  “I’m done being a pawn in whatever sick agenda you have.  Phrase the question any way you like…The answer will still be ‘Kiss my ass.’”

5)      Relativity
“Safeguard your weaknesses, for your enemy will always use them against you.  But more importantly …”  He raised a single bony finger, waving it rhythmically to the cadence of his words.  “Safeguard your true strengths.  If he knows not what you are capable of, he will always underestimate you.”  He fixed his unflinching eyes on mine.  “And you are not to be underestimated.”

6)      Proximity
I carefully lined up the first target and squeezed the button that functioned as a trigger.  It was a direct hit, but it left me with spots in my eyes from the intense blue flash.  “What the heck is the benefit in that?!” I griped, turning back to face Aeron.  “How am I supposed to hit the next target if I’m half blind?”  I blinked feverishly to regain my full sight as he stepped toward me.
“Sorry, that’s my fault,” he cringed.  “I neglected to tell you to keep your eyes focused on the distant target.  Try not to look down at the barrel.”
“Anything else I need to know about?” I jokingly harassed him.  “Are my arms going to fall off if I don’t push the button the right way?”
“No,” he chuckled.  “Your arms only fall off if you forget to say the magic words first.”
“Something like, ‘Die, you rebel punk bastards’?…”  I proposed.
“That’ll work…”  He stepped back with a wink.

7)   Vitality
“Tiresome girl,” Nangí droned a sigh.  “You’ll never be silenced about this if I refuse to demean myself alongside the rest of you lot.”
“I said I was giving up,” I maintained.  “You won’t hear another peep about it.”  I ceremoniously zipped my lips.  He soberly shook his head, clearly not believing I had it within me to keep my yap shut.  One of the officers stepped to Nangí’s side, presenting safety pads in one hand and a deceleration belt in the other.  Nangí scowled at him, seemingly disgusted by the insinuation that he was as pathetic as the rest of us, actually requiring tools to survive a five thousand foot drop.

8)      Vitality
“You realize you make it next to impossible to give you a heartfelt ‘thank you’?”  I scraped the tenacious mud from my hands and flung it to the ground with a splat.
“You realize sentimentality makes me ill to my stomach?”  His nose wriggled with a sickened grimace.  “People tend to be thankful when someone saves their life…Consider your gratitude automatically implied.”
“Well, I don’t like to come across as unappreciative, old man.  So take a deep breath and try not to upchuck…”  I cleared my throat, my expression shifting to genuine sincerity.  “Thank you, Nangí.  Thank you for rescuing me…on more than one occasion.”  It was all over his face that I was giving him the heebie-jeebies, but he stood his ground in front of me.  I opened my mouth to continue, and a discontented groan escaped him.  “Settle down, I’m almost finished,” I rolled my eyes.  “I just want to thank you in advance for all the times you’ll undoubtedly save my hide before all is said and done.”
“Good, get it all out of the way up front.”

9)   Vitality
I whipped my head in that direction, but I saw nothing unexpected.  All the same, I froze in my position, straining for the sound of footsteps.  I heard nothing but the pulse of my own heartbeat throbbing feverishly in my ears.  I didn’t dare utter a sound…Stupid people in scary movies always whimper a quivering “Wh-Who’s there?”, just before some psychopath appears and dismembers them with a chainsaw.

10)   Vitality
I let out a perturbed sigh.  It was approaching a hundred Earth-years since I last fell from a cliff, and yet somehow my father still thought I couldn’t be trusted.  As I opened my mouth to protest, Aeron’s gentle hand came to rest upon my knee.  “Perhaps circumstances have made your father a little over-protective,” he whispered calmly.  “I’m sure he means well by it…Besides, it’s not every day you get to torment Nangí into flinging himself off a cliff,” he chuckled softly, grazing my ear with a quick kiss.
I relaxed my tense expression, turning to meet Aeron’s amused eyes.  “You really think we can get him to jump with us?” As I considered the thought, a smile spread across my lips.  I could never have envisioned the “old” Nangí falling mid-air…but this more youthful version might be surprisingly up to the challenge.  Aeron chuckled softly, entertained by my enthusiasm for harassing Nangí.  I turned to call over my shoulder, knowing I’d be once again speaking to the back of his unkempt head.  “You know, come to think of it, Nangí…Father did say something about wanting you to stay within five feet of me at all times.  I sure hope those robes don’t create too much wind drag.”

You have to love the fact that these characters spout off or wisecrack at any given time...it makes them so realistic. Love these quotes as well, I love the way they interact with each other. M.A. George has a wonderful gift of making her characters as real as you or I, that's one of the reasons I so enjoy these books.

Can she let go of Brody so she can clear her way to accept Camden’s love?
I seriously love this story, Aggie is a treasure and Camden, well Camden just sizzles. I love where J.A. Howell took this book. It made me a very happy, and somewhat drool covered camper. I want to thank the author for giving me her book to read and review, I loved it. This whole series has been a great joy to read and I wish for more just like them!

Meet J.A. Howell

J.A Howell is an office drone by day, and a writer by night. Her love of writing took off when she was eleven years old and decided to fill a composition notebook with stories to read to her friends. Many years (and notebooks) later, not much has changed. She still loves writing and sharing her works with others. When she isn’t writing, she can often be found trying her hand at whatever artistic pursuit strikes her fancy. J.A. Howell resides in Apopka, FL with her husband and their menagerie of animal children

The Library Cover Reveal by T.M. Smith

Just what happened in the library after Cirian put Rian on the desk and tore his shirt off?

Who came out on 'Top' in Secrets and Ice cream? Aiyan or Kaden??

What exactly did the birds witness when Tanis slammed into Raven?

All these questions and more will be revealed in 'The Library'.

** Warning ** The Opposites series by T.M. Smith is an adult, dystopian majorly M/M series with a dash of M/F and a touch of F/F to keep the balance!

The Library is a short story containing deleted and/or extended scenes from Opposites. My fans ask and they shall receive! I was flooded with questions about these three scenes specifically after releasing Opposites. Tentative release date is September of 2013, barring no complications. I have to give huge props to my cover artist extraordinaire, T.L. Shreffler of Runaway Book Designs. She's also the genius behind my blog design. If you are looking for a cover artist or someone to re-vamp your blog/website, you should give her a looksee.
If you haven't read Opposites yet, grab your copy and get ready for The Library before it releases. Look for more information on book 2, Appearances, in the coming months as well.

Be sure to enter the giveaway below as well for some cool Opposites swag.
