Paperback Release: April 21, 2013
Genre: Young Adult

Book Description:
Facing an unstable future, Chela Prizeon leaves Castle Hayne and crosses over to enemy territory in pursuit of Faris--the boy of royal blood who is cursed by a bitter rival. But soon Chela learns that he has been taken deep into the treacherous frozen prisons--a majestic, but deadly place where people enter and are never seen again. To find the boy she loves, Chela must join forces with one of her greatest enemies. And even though she pulls strength from the good in her powers, she finds herself drawn to the dark side's temptation as well.

Narrated from both Chela's and Faris's point of view, this enchanting sequel to When Copper Suns Fall will take them on a voyage into unknown lands, where the dark, twisted, and revengeful wait to make this their most dangerous journey ever.

Please Note: This book contains mature content including profanity, drug/alcohol use, and sexual situations/language.

~~Kj's Review~~
Chela goes looking for her love Faris, along the way encounters Seth, and with little choice ends up traveling with him. Turns out to do what they want, they all need to be together, and that includes Asa who hasn’t been found yet. Dark and light play a delicate balance in everything Chela does, confusing her to a degree as to what is happening to her. Will she be able to help fix the curse Faris’s family lives under or will the worst happen?
For the second time this week a series has blown my mind; my favorites list has just grown again. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys fantasy, this story is EPIC!!   The author creates a world you will never want to leave, it’s a very well written series that pulls you in and makes you a part of all that is happening. Before I gush all over, serious fangirl moment here, I want to thank KaSonndra Leigh for giving me these books to read and review….I may never be the same. I give both books 5 stars.

Broken Prince

Title: Broken Prince (Book 2 of The Broken Ones)
Author: Jen Wylie
Genre: New Adult, Fantasy
Blitz Host: Lady Amber's Tours

Synopsis:
Sometimes, when you're broken, you can heal on your own. Sometimes, you need the help of your friends, your family, and the people you love. Keeping those pieces together when the world seems intent on ripping you apart is the greatest challenge of all. Especially when the ones you love, the ones who hold you together, start falling apart themselves.
Arowyn and her family continue on their journey to return the Elven Prince, Shael, to his homeland before he fades and dies. A journey full of triumph and horror, love and sorrow, rips them apart with every fighting moment, and yet brings them together as a family. They don’t allow the prophecy to rule their lives. Some don’t believe, some don’t care.  Prophecies aren’t written in stone. Events can change. People can change. They are only words. From besieged cites, to the elusive Were and wild Fey, nothing quite prepares them to face their deadliest of enemies, one they didn't know existed.

Excerpt:
Damon knelt before them.
"Will she get better? Will she…" Prince’s voice trailed off.
Her eyes locked on Damon’s face as he regarded her thoughtfully. His hand came up and she flinched as it rested on the top of her head. No pain came. She felt…nothing. If he tried to speak to her, she couldn’t hear him.
"No," he said finally. "There has been damage to the brain. There is bleeding and swelling inside."
Prince’s cry startled her, almost as much as the sudden clutching of his arms around her. "Can you do anything," he choked out. "Please, I am responsible. I can not…I will pay–"
Damon chuckled. "It is not your life that needs saving." He stared at Prince for a long moment. "I see." He shook his head. "Perhaps I was wrong and she isn’t the one. I read so few pages of the book." He turned to Kei.
"No," the Fey said. "I don’t remember."
"Pity."
"Dragos, I beg of you," Prince began again.
"The Elven prince begs, and for a human. How very far you have fallen." He looked down at her again.
Blinking up at him, she tried to get her scattered thoughts to work. She’d barely comprehended what he’d said past the inference she was dying. The words sent an icy chill through her body. Terror crawled through her, speeding her heart. Sweat broke out on her forehead and all she could hear was her increasingly frantic breathing.
Kei startled her, leaning forward over her to press a kiss to her forehead. She tilted her head back, trying to see him.
"I’m with you."
Damon’s fingers brushes her cheek, drawing her attention back to him. "Do you wish to live, young Arowyn?"
Words refused to pass her lips. Somehow she managed to nod. She didn’t know what the cost would be, certainly there would be one. Right then, she didn’t care. Rot it all, she wanted to live!
"Very well." He regarded her thoughtfully for a moment. "Dragos rarely heal others. I do know the magic, but it is difficult. Your story has barely begun. I find I would actually attempt it, just to see what you might become and how it will unfold."
He sat back and gestured to the pile of furs next to him. "Lay her down. This will take some time and I’ll need no distractions."
Prince carefully set her amongst the furs, arranging her arms so her hands rested on her chest, tucking stray locks of hair behind her ears. Leaning forward, he rested his forehead for a moment against hers.
"Get well, Arowyn."
Bo appeared next, smoothing the hair back on the top of her head and squeezing one of her hands. "You can do this, pup."
Garen pressed his wet nose against her temple. If he spoke, she didn’t hear him.
Kei pushed the wolf aside and took her face in his hands. His eyes glowed with that strange orange inner light. Tears streaked down his cheeks. Despite the awkward position he leaned down and held her close for a moment. "Remember our promises," he whispered in her. "I’m always with you." He choked on a sob and squeezed her tightly again. "I love you," he whispered fiercely before quickly pulling away.
She wished she could speak. More than anything, she wanted to tell him she loved him, too. She wanted to tell all of them she did. Tears filled her eyes and slid down her face.
Damon knelt beside her and turned her head to look at him. "I will do what I can," he said. "However I can’t guarantee it will work. I have never tried to heal a human before. Understand?"
She managed a faint nod and pressed her quivering lips together.
He glanced up and gestured the others away. "Stand back and be silent." His eyes found hers again. "Don’t fight me this time, little one. Fall into my eyes…"
Blinking once more to clear the tears away, she tried to do as he asked. Damon’s eyes were strange enough she found it not difficult to stare. They had vertical slits and no whites at all. The iridescent color was a wash of blue-green with streaks of gold and red. The colors began to swirl, making her dizzy as she tried to watch them. A comforting thrum emanated from his chest, soothing her as his power wrapped around her. Her thoughts drifted into nothing.

~~Kj's Review~~
This book picked up where the first one left off, so it was a seamless jump into Arowyn and her companion’s world again. The adversities and horrors they face are met with bravery, strength and I am not sure they ever think they might fail. Lives are lost, feelings get damaged, and that which might be able to be fixed seems out of reach.
This book is a 5 star read, the imagery is fantastic and I never wanted to come back from their world. Jen Wylie has penned a series that will live in my mind for a very long time indeed. I want more, there is so much more to be discovered. I would usually give a short peek into the book with my review, for the first time ever I could not….it needs to be read to be enjoyed. If you are a fan of Fey, Were, Elves and other mystical creatures you will be right at home with this book. Thank you Jen Wylie for giving me your book to read and review, it was fantastic!!

~~Kj's Review of The Brown House~~
Brylee and her family moved from California to New Jersey, and Brylee isn’t as happy about it as her parents. She finds her new house to be a little spooky and soon starts finding out that her house is haunted, plus has a curse, which has people terrified of it. But on the bright side she meets her next door neighbor Lynley and her totally hot brother Ephraim. As she starts to learn more about her house and the horrors it holds, the more determined she becomes to get to the bottom of it all. Soon she starts seeing and hearing more ghostly happenings, leading her to realize she has a gift she never wanted.
There is so much to like about this story, you really need to get this book to appreciate the whole thing. I loved the fact that the brown house is very real, which only makes the book that much more intriguing, even as I understand this is the author’s own tale about it. I recommend this book to anyone liking scary stories; from teens on up, they will all love this book. I always love a story that keeps you in suspense, slightly scared, you are waiting……and BOO! Kudos to Christy Sloat on a well written, wonderfully told story that will never get old for me. I give it 5 stars.

~~Kj's Review of The Crimson Key~~
This book picks up where the last one ended, Brylee is searching for the answers to cure her best friend Lyn and her boyfriend Ephraim of the curse the Brown house has given them. The search for answers is going slowly, the frustrations building as each day brings more evil around. Lyn is getting sick faster than Ephraim, they are in a race against time now. As Lyn’s mom starts pulling her away from Brylee it makes things even harder to handle. The answers they have found are not promising, it seems that all avenues are drying up. Will they find what they need in time?  Will Brylee lose that which is most important to her? To make matters much worse her dad gets a job in California and they want to move back. What more can happen; you have to read it to believe it!
Oh boy, book two is even better than the first, it kept me on the edge of my seat. My mind was totally immersed in this book, I think I shared every emotion that the characters had. Christy Sloat has proven again she has what it takes to hold her audience! The ending…..there is no words to say. I simply love, love, love this series! I find that this series has entered into my favorite list, I don’t see it leaving there either lol. Thanks Christy for giving me your book to read and review, I am in awe. I give this book 5 stars.

~~Kj's Review Of ReVamped~~
Dawn is a vampire, they are now recognized and have their own president; Dawn’s father. She lives for an outside assignment so when her father sends her to the small town of Angel Creek to train new Guardians, she is beyond thrilled. When she meets her four vampires she’s not so sure any more, they are a ragtag bunch at best. She meets a mysterious vampire outside of her Guardian trainees, named Sebastian who peaks her interest and refuses to join her group.
When a human is kidnapped by rogue vampires, Dawn and her team must save her, Sebastian goes along to help. Pretty soon Dawn is in a world of intrigue, mystery and a lot of danger, more than she ever expected from a small town. Who is the evil vampire who is so interested in Dawn and why?  Will her team pull it together? Secrets come out of the past to confuse and frustrate.
I loved this book, this was a scenario I had never really considered when I thought about vampire stories. I will heartily recommend this book to all vampire lovers, it’s a wild ride of mystery, action and romance. I couldn’t put it down, which lead to a night of not sleeping as much as I should have…yep it’s that good! I thank Ms. Adams for giving me this book to read and review, I give it 5 stars.

Dawn with her Misfits, as she calls her Guardian group are taking a breather, they have defeated some of the evils around them. But…as we all know, nothing ever stays quiet for long. Dawn meets a new vampire when she heads over to take care of Sebastian’s house; Razor is the name he’s going by and he willingly joins in to help the Misfits. Off goes Dawn with her group, to find Sebastian and whatever is still after the Born vampires.
I have to say the second book was just as good as the first, maybe even better. It started off where the first one stopped and takes us on another adventure like no adventure I have ever been on before. I am highly impressed with Ada Adams storytelling capabilities, I could not stop reading because I felt like I was a part of the story. I have to say I had my moments with this book: hollering, a few tears, and horror too. Again I want to thank Ms. Adams for this wonderful book, am very much looking forward to the next! I give this book 5 stars.

Purchase Links: Goodreads*Kindle

~~Kj's Review~~
Ronan and Bronwyn are still very much together; Bronwyn is learning a lot more about Ronan than she had previously known and that makes her happy. Then there’s Rider, who has gone off the deep end, has become a bloody killer, he still wants Bronwyn and thinks that is what she wants. Seraph, Tuck and Carly all blame Bronwyn saying she’s the reason he has done this, which makes her angry, and feel a bit guilty. She asks Ronan to let her handle Rider, and he says okay for the time being, but don’t expect him to not step in when he feels it’s needed.
This book takes us all over the globe as Ronan has to take care of his business and his children. We get a much deeper insight into Ronan in this book which makes me really happy. He isn’t just a bloody killer and vicious jerk as I had thought previously. Bronwyn has learned to be more true to who she is in this book also, while still being able to be with Ronan.  I love them as a couple now, I was inclined to be against them in the beginning, but in this book see the deepness of the love they share, although like any couple they are going to fight and have bad times.
This book was even better than the last, I was thrilled to find out more about the characters, I also enjoyed Ronan’s children and seeing how they all interact. The ending all but killed me, I mean wait there’s more right? I guess I got really involved with the story and was thinking hollering might change it hahaha. Thanks Jessica Gibson for a great book, I enjoyed reading it and give it 5 stars.

Publication Date: January 29, 2013

Blurb: The essence of who we are lies not in what we have, but in what we are willing to give up.  Because in the end, Time and Tide wait for no one.
After sacrificing all that she had, the evil princess of the Underworld is still successful in her bid to tear Finn from Stasia’s life.  In the midst of her search to reclaim him, Stasia is summoned to the island nation of Cyprus to take part in an age-old ritual; unveiling the missing pieces of her ancestry and re-igniting an ancient war.  As she struggles to both save Finn’s soul and free Carmen’s mind, Stasia’s bravery and determination will be pushed to its breaking point.  A dark storm is forming on the horizon, and the forces who are vying to destroy her may be much closer than she thinks.  Destiny weaves a sticky web of evil, betrayal, and revenge that can only be undone by the purity of love and the soul’s unyielding will to survive.  In the last installment of the Daughters of the Sea trilogy, the past will collide with the present as Stasia’s future hangs in the balance.  The prophecy that paved the way for her new life may indeed be the very thing that strips her of the ones she loves the most.

Meet Kristen Day

I am a southern belle at heart with a crazy streak that desperately tries to escape at every opportunity. I love all things nostalgic, rustic, and quirky. I've been told I see the world through rose-colored glasses, but I prefer to think of them as kaleidoscope glasses - swirling and morphing reality into something I can digest (who hasn't pretended those pasty lima beans were really kiwi strawberry jelly beans?).

I am the author of the DAUGHTERS OF THE SEA trilogy, which includes FORSAKEN, AWAKEN, and CHOSEN (Winter 2012). I love all books, but really enjoy writing young adult, paranormal romances. I've loved to write for as long as I can remember. My first published work was my poem RED in second grade (you guessed it - it was a poem about the color red - life altering, I know) that won me 5 gold stars and a spot in my elementary school's poetry book. That's when my addiction to the written word officially began. I was the only kid in fifth grade that actually enjoyed diagramming sentences. Go ahead and laugh – it’s okay.
When I'm not writing I'm making jewelry, painting, drinking sweet tea, watching the discovery channel, or going on random adventures in the mountains of North Carolina with my amazing husband. I graduated from Appalachian State University and dream of becoming a full time novelist.
