Fat Chance by Brandi Kennedy

Fat Chance, book one of the Kingsley Series - Synopsis:
Meet Cassaundra Keaton, an adult orphan raised in the foster system. She's overweight and struggling to survive in a world that makes her feel like she can never fit in. Follow her journey as she learns to trust and love herself, and watch her grow as she finds love. But will an issue from her past rise up to ruin her new life?

About the Cast of Fat Chance
Cassaundra Keaton
Nickname: Cass
Description: She's a little short and a good bit overweight. She's got brown eyes and dark hair, and a good sense of what to wear for her body, partly due to the good counsel of her sister, Chelsea.
BackStory: Cass is an orphan, who spent her childhood watching various members of her family die off until no one was left. Alone in the world, she spent the later parts of her childhood and teen years being shuffled from foster family to foster family until she finally landed in the home of Janet and Jim Keaton, who took her in and made her one of their own.

Andrew Kingsley
Nickname: Drew
Description: He's a cop, so he's got that uniform body. He's fitness-oriented, taking Cass on hikes and stuff throughout the early days of their relationship, and is a hobby runner. With short dark hair boasting a bit of early gray in the temples, his green eyes are possibly his most astonishing feature.
BackStory: Drew grew up in the crowed but happy Kingsley family. A good guy through and through, he's living his life just the way he's always planned to ... with a few minor adjustments thrown in.

The Author's Take on the Cast of Fat Chance

When the idea of Cass first entered my mind, I was just totally taken with the idea of getting to know her. I loved her quiet nature, her insecurity, because I could relate so well to her struggles. I'm not an orphan, and I didn't grow up in the foster system, but I did suffer from a very low self image due to family issues and my personal feelings about my body, etc. It was so easy for me to write Cass as she made fun of herself, because I've been there. It was easy for me to write Rick as he verbally brutalized her, because I've been there, too. The music that lifted Cass' spirit, is the very same music that resides in the electronic secrecy of my cell phone, music that I listen to frequently, to remind mysef of my own inner (and outer) worth and beauty.

It was so much fun to write Mac as he took Cass while she was broken, and he helped her piece herself back together. I didn't have much of a mentor in that, and I've had to learn my own self-worth in bits and pieces throughout my life. But I've learned so much over the years and now I can look into my own round face with pleasure. Which is what made Drew so easy to write ...

I've had men in my life who loved me. Some did it in spite of my weight, in spite of the size or shape of me, simply loving me for what is underneath the exterior. Others? Others loved me maybe because of my body, because I've got full breasts like Cass, because I've got her overly round hips, because I've got that "coffee table" booty, and because I've got soft thighs that make a man wonder what's hiding between.

I've been lucky, too, like Cass, in that I tend to "carry my weight well," and I look best when I'm a little round. Still, it's been a great thing to learn how to look in the mirror and honestly appreciate what I see. It's a great thing to look in the mirror and not cry, not despise myself, and not wish for every little thing to be just a little different. I really did waste so much of myself over the years in wishing that I was someone else, or at least looked like someone else, and that's why Cass' story isn't just for "big" girls. It's a story for ALL girls, for all women who have looked down on themselves because the bathroom scale told them too. It's a story for every woman whose mirror tells her she is unworthy of love.

A message from Cass and me, from the other side?

"Get on out there, girl! Big or small, short or tall, you ARE worth something, and there's definitely a Drew for you."

Kj's Review
Cass is overweight and she hates it, beating herself up for it. She has some issues she just cannot get past on her own, so she finds herself a therapist. From being overweight to being verbally and emotionally abused; this is a wide eyed look at the issues that so many woman deal with on a daily basis.
Taking control of her life Cass makes positive strides, with minor setbacks from time to time. She meets Drew and it seems happiness may be possible at long last, what will happen now? Ms. Kennedy has written a story that can be read and again, I can see Cass as being a great example of how to deal with the issues in your life.
I would recommend this book to anyone, with or without weight issues, it’s a terrific story of how we can all win with a little help. If books can inspire us this one is a excellent example. I cannot begin to put in words how wonderful this book is, I just thank Ms. Kennedy for writing it! Fat Chance has hit my list for all-time favorites, a five star read!

Excerpt:
Zig was right about one thing: Grim is about to push me off the nest’s edge. Last night he told me he’ll assign me a client for collection. I hope my wings will be strong enough to fly solo.
My parents and I cancel brunch and visit Anton in the hospital. He’s due for release tomorrow. I glance at Mom, her arm hooked with Dad’s. When we arrive home from the hospital, I power on my computer and scroll down my messages. I emailed Rolf yesterday, he hasn’t replied yet. I scroll down to read Lea’s email. She arrived safely and is looking forward to beginning her summer job at the museum on Monday. She reminds me to keep an eye on Reiner for her. I plan to call him tomorrow. Maybe go out. He might let me in on what’s happening.
I spend most of the afternoon with Lucy at the playground, skating a thin line between anxiety about the lone collection Grim intends to send me on and relief that it’s almost evening and he hasn’t contacted me. After coming back home, I immerse myself in tidying everywhere and everything to occupy my mind. Mom seems pleased about my sudden urge to clean.
As I finish wiping the kitchen sink clean, something ‘dings’ and I rush to check the microwave. Nothing. Words flash like neon in my mind, and I yelp at the sudden intrusion. Mom looks up from her interior design magazines. I murmur “cramps” and dash to the bathroom and turn the lock.
Is this how Grim alerts about collection instructions? Why didn’t I think to ask? Why didn’t anyone warn me?
I steady my breaths,  and read the instructions.
Assignment: Soul collection
19th District, Georges Hospital, Room 302
Age: Ninety-three years
Soul Colour: Red
No name, just the soul colour. This one seems to have lived a vibrant life.
I grab my soul collection trench coat, shove it inside my rucksack, and dash downstairs, heart pounding in my chest. Mom looks up, and so does Dad, working on one of his carvings at the kitchen table.
Keep cool, Ana. I clear my throat and try to keep from fidgeting. “I’m just going out for a little while. I’ll be back before dinner.”
“Are you are meeting Rolf?”
I shake my head. “He travelled to Japan with his father. I’m going for a stroll along the Danube. Then catch up on my reading.” I tap the rucksack. My chest twists painfully.
Dad lowers his tools on the table. “I could join you if you like.”
“Maybe next time?” I force myself to walk slowly out the front door, even though my feet want to run.
Outside, I dash under the low hanging branches of the walnut tree, glad for its leafy limbs, which hide me from sight.
Breathe. Concentrate. Conceal. Focus on my destination. Shift.
And smack straight into a wall. Rubbing my nose, I scan my surroundings and head for the hospital’s entrance while digging out the trench from my rucksack and putting it on. I shift to room 302 and freeze.
Eight people surround the bed obstructing my view, speaking in low voices. I scoot around them. On the bed lies a tiny woman, her hands clasped together as if in prayer. She says something, stops, and takes a jagged breath. The red of her soul flickers on her skin. Seconds later, she smiles, deep lines creasing her pale cheeks. A little girl with blond curly hair sitting on the bed next to my client whimpers. She wraps her small fingers around my client’s.
My number one mission: know the names. The souls deserve respect. I peek at the nametag stuck on the metal rail at the foot of her bed: Frau Elfriede Hofer.
I wait as Frau Hofer’s family pays their last respects. I shove my hands inside my pockets and shift my blurry gaze out the window. Once her family leaves, I wipe my face. Although I have collected souls with Grim the past weeks, it still gets to me every time.
Frau Hofer opens her eyes and smiles. I wrap my hands around hers, gazing into her green eyes. And our conversation begins.
She’s had a wonderful life. She met her husband at the beginning of the second World War and fell in love. At eighteen, he was drafted. It took her three years before she saw him again. They got married before he went back to war. I see images of him coming back when the war was over, and life after the war, struggling to make ends meet. Her six children were her dream and life. Her husband passed away fifteen years ago. She adores her three daughters-in-law and three grandchildren, but she’s worried what will happen when she leaves. From her memories, I see how she’s kept her family glued together. Nothing can break that bond.
I tell her exactly that. She nods, and I know she’s ready. She closes her eyes and, with a smile, she draws her last breath.
Once Elfriede’s soul dances its way inside the vial, I replace the cap, mark it, and slip it carefully inside the padded pockets of my trench.
Outside the room, I slump on the wall, cover my face with my hands, and take deep breaths. I did it. All I need are a few more steps to deliver the vial to the soul chamber. I climb to my feet and hurry down the bustling hallway. With my head low, I head for the stairwell. I could shift, but I need to savour this feeling. My first solo collection success. A male nurse dashes past me, pushing a patient on a stretcher. I brush past a group of nurses waiting at the elevator. As I’m about to push the door leading to the stairwell, a familiar scent swathes my senses, freezing me on the spot.
“Ana?”

Excerpt:
“Dain, we are here. We are walking the rest of the way.”
I sat up as Bonnie reached back from the front seat to shake me again. Still half asleep, I grabbed her hand, and she allowed me to pull her through the opening. I tugged her onto my lap in the cramped back seat and closed my arms around her. It was nice to have her back where she belonged. Whether she was Bonnie or Tara, she felt familiar.
She didn’t melt into me like she usually would have, and I tried to ignore the hurt that wreaked havoc on my heart.
“Where are Marco and Akila?” My groggy voice was thick with gravel.
“They are looking around for a place to hide the car.”
I snuggled against her neck, inhaling deeply. Her skin was warm, fragrant silk against my nose. I nuzzled deeper. “You don’t like me much do you, Bonnie?” She lifted her chin, allowing me to trail my lips along her jaw. Her breath caught as I flicked my tongue against the dip beneath her earlobe.
“You are a stranger to me, Dain, so how can I dislike you? But you aren’t the man I love. I love Dylan.”
I kissed her chin, and now her breath sped up in response. I felt her pulse racing beneath my finger tips on her wrist.
“Bonnie, if you knew what I know about Dylan, you’d hate him as much as I do.”
“I could never hate Dylan.” She turned to face me, our lips a breath away from one another. Her eyes blazed with a fire deep from within her that I had never seen in Tara, and I was almost consumed by the heat.

Kj's Review:

I love this book, could not put it down for anything, had to read it all in one sitting. The whole concept of being reborn intrigued me, this book made it possible in my mind. The characters became very real to me as I read this story.
When Tara was so sure Dylan was Dain and he said no, it nearly broke my heart. Missy, well she’s a piece of work, but Dylan does have a lot of history with her. Then there is Bonnie, who knows Dylan not Dain. I won’t give away any more of the story as it needs to be read to be appreciated.
Casse Narome has hit a home run in my book, I hope there are more books coming along this line as I need more!! I would like to thank Casse Narome for allowing me to read and review her book. I am definitely a fan!!

Witch Weigh

Witch Weigh
By Caroline Mickelson
Publication Date: April 24, 2012
Novella length -  30K word paranormal romantic comedy

Book Blurb:
Tessa Von Hellengaard is a real witch. Magical spells aside, she’s snarky and selfish, and the other witches in her silent spell coven are fed up with her. Their plan to reform Tessa involves taking away her magic, saddling her with one hundred extra pounds, and sending her to a weight loss spa. For good measure they call in Liam Kennedy, a charming and sexy fairy godfather, to teach her some manners. Desperate to regain her magic and determined to shed the weight, Tessa soon realizes that protecting her heart from Liam will prove to be her greatest challenge.

Excerpt:
“Hey, lady, anyone ever tell you you’re a real witch?”
“More times than you can imagine.” Contessa Von Hellengaard, Tessa to her few friends and many enemies alike, eyed the obstinate construction worker who blocked the path of her sleek black Mercedes.
She wondered how this mere mortal would like being turned into a fluffy skunk. Her fingers itched to work their magic, but she kept them gripped on the steering wheel. She was already in enough trouble with the Upper Hallows Witch Council without casting what they would consider another unnecessary spell. If she was detained any longer she’d be late for her meeting with said council. Tessa knew they were already ticked off enough without her adding another infraction to their precious list.
She leaned out the window. “Remove your overfed self from my way immediately. I need to use this road and I don’t have time for your ridiculous detour.”
“Guess you should’ve used your broomstick then because there ain’t no way I’m letting your car get through here.” He crossed his beefy arms over his chest.
He seemed altogether too amused with his juvenile humor for Tessa’s liking. Broomstick indeed. She revved the motor to let him know she meant business.
He couldn’t say he hadn’t been warned.
She pushed up her black lace sleeves and pointed to the orange and white barricade. “Last warning. Remove yourself and that thing from my way.”
He laughed at her. Laughed. At her.
She narrowed her eyes. This sorry excuse for a government employee was not going to make her late for her meeting. Removing him from her path, she decided, was a very necessary act indeed. She could make the council members understand. But only if she got there on time.
With the tip of her red lacquered fingernail she traced a circle in her palm, silently reciting the spell that would get her what she wanted. A small, satisfied smile tugged at her lips as the man in front of her began to levitate. She stroked her index finger sideways to help direct his ascension. His shocked expression and angry torrent of curse words bothered her not at all. He continued to fuss and kick even after he was hooked on to the high crane by the back of his overalls. At over forty feet above the ground she could barely make out his foul words.
Tessa flicked her finger across her palm with one last quick swipe and waited while the barricade went flying to the side of the road and crashed on a pile of rocks.
She waved farewell to the construction worker as she slipped her Mercedes into drive. The fool would be wise to quit struggling or he’d soon have a painful wedgie.
Silly mortal. He had no reason to panic. Someone would be along to get him down.
Eventually.

Kj's Review:
Tessa is a witch with an attitude problem, her coven wants her to change…enter Liam, her fairy godfather. He takes Tessa to a place he feels will be the most likely to change her; a fat farm, with the added weight to work off. Liam will most certainly try his hardest to guide Tessa by making her learn some of life’s lessons on her own, and without her magic.
This is a well written, engaging story of a selfish witch gone wrong. I was so involved with this story from the very beginning, I hated her snobbery, I wanted, no needed her to change. To me that is the very reason an author writes; when you go so deeply into the story you are feeling it right along with the characters. I would not hesitate to recommend this book to anyone, it is that good.
I would like to thank Ms. Mickelson for giving me the chance to read and review this book. She has made a new fan, I will certainly read more of her books.
Author Bio:

She also loves a good adventure, among her favorites thus far were attending graduate school in a Scottish castle, riding a camel around the Pyramids in Giza, and taking a best-in-a-lifetime road trip to Graceland. Falling Into Paradise by Kamy Chetty

A woman too afraid to commit. A man too hurt to love again. A passion that refuses to be denied. Sophie Redmond knew betrayal, she knew mistrust. She knew everything that was wrong with the world, until Damon Watson charmed his way into her life. The rules she used to shield her heart were broken one by one, as Damon showed her compassion and kindness. When no one else believes in her, he shows her hope. But is hope ever enough? Damon knew trouble when he saw it. He was the sheriff. He could spot it a mile away and Sophie was trouble with a capital T. What was it about this City Slicker doctor that made him want to forget everything but those whiskey brown eyes and that honey blonde hair spilled against his naked chest. Can Damon put the past behind him and choose to love again?

Kj's Review:
A hot Georgia murder mystery with spice aplenty; this book weaves its magic on you on more than one level. The action never falters taking you on a bumpy ride of whodunit, and all the circumstances surrounding it.
Damon, the Paradise Falls sheriff, is one hot playboy and he knows it. Sophie Redmond, a beautiful doctor with plenty of rules about dating. Sophie thinks she can handle Damon but it is proven very shortly that their chemistry is not to be denied and they sizzle.
Sophie has learned from life to distrust everything and everyone. When the town’s most influential couple’s son dies, under what she considers to be mysterious causes, she wants to find answers her way. This leads to her arrest, the judge sentences her to house arrest under the watchful eye of the hunky sheriff and off we go. Their story twists and turns and takes them into Sophie’s past, while investigating the present, to find answers and maybe even more.
I would recommend this book to anyone over 18, I truly enjoyed reading it. I tend to shy away from books with anything more than just hinted at romance in them, Kamy Chetty has changed my mind a bit as this was beautifully written. Many thanks to her for supplying this book for me to read and review, I will be watching for more from her.

Genre: Erotica
Publisher: Hot Ink Press

Synopsis:
Demon Dolan Ciar exists on three simple words: desire, denial, and destruction. Every four years, he is allowed one night of earthly passion to punish a deserving female. By the time he is finished, his victims are left as willing receptacles for demons yet to come.
Since she was four, a demon has been the only constant in Leora Desmond's life. He taught her how to seize control, to never give up, and to take whatever she wanted. At twenty-four, her self-centered existence is focused on one thing. She wants Dolan, and she won't be dissuaded.
A mistake brought Dolan to Leora. A promise bound him to her. Returning once again to ask for his freedom, he is faced with Leora demanding to be his next conquest. The ultimate retribution would be to take from her the ultimate symbol of her selfishness.
Now, Dolan must decide if he can doom her to life in living hell or face his own set of unearthly consequences, while Leora must choose between her pleasure and her heart.
The Promise blurs the line between good and evil, desire and love, and promises and commitment.

We asked Kim a few questions:

1. With of all the genres out there, what pulled you to erotica?
I like the sex scenes to be explicit, though I do love a good two flame romance.  I just always felt like there wasn't enough.

2. Does everything you see become possible thoughts for a book?
Yes.  People better watch it, I will write them into my stories and if I don't like them, they will get nasty treatment!!

3. What has been your greatest challenge while writing?
Forgetting the rules and just writing.

4. Where did the inspiration for The Promise come from?
It was a call for submission about demons, and I always like to play with the confines of convention, traditional roles and good and evil.

5. Who is your favorite author and why?
Johanna Lindsey because she is just fun.

6. Do you go into your character's world when you are writing?
Yes, I live with them.  They are more real then some real people around me.  I will also talk for them.  They are facets of me, my dreams, my fantasies and my nightmares.

7. Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
My husband who told me I can do anything.

Excerpt:
He tilted his head. "You look older."
She forced herself to blink and to remember her goal. "Then I assume I am at last old enough to be a fit for a demon." She stepped forward, stopping less than a foot away from him. The back of her throat dried out, and she swallowed.
He put his hand to his chin, his gaze taking her in. "This old song and dance. When will you use the brains you have and leave it alone?"
His words hit her, but rather than retreating, she moved closer. The energy, the tingle, the wafts of spice encompassed her and lured her toward him. "Never."
"You were smart last time. Why don't you release me so I can do what I came here for." He glanced down at her and then shifted his focus beyond her. "I have needs as well."
"Tonight I am the one you came here for." The mention of his last visit stung, but she willed herself to keep going. She ran her fingers up the buttons of his shirt. "You always told me to take control."
He shook his head. "A lesson you learned well."
She reached up and clenched his collar in her fist. "I let you go last time, but tonight I am the one you need."
He grabbed her wrist. "I spared you before. Never forget that."
She stared right into his eyes. No weakness was allowed tonight. "It's me, Dolan. Me, or you can be celibate until the decade I do you the favor of dying. I don't care about your pain." She tensed, preparing herself for his retaliation.
"I thought I taught you better than to make demands of a demon." He pressed his palm to the side of her face.
Heat radiated through her body, sending a warning to every one of her nerve endings. "A demon who comforts a child is a failure of a demon in my book."
His jaw tightened. "That was a mistake. An oversight."

Guest Post: Author's Playlist

Music is nearly as essential to writing as a good imagination is in my opinion.  I’m not sure I would have made it through writing my first novel without it.  I would like to thank Amy & KJ of Fated Paranormals for hosting me today.  ^_^

There were periods while I was writing Of Gaea that passed in silence.  Those periods were few and far between and after reading the book you can probably guess which parts they were.

My taste in music is very broad and eclectic.  I have a little bit of everything in my music library because as I write I usually listen to whatever suits the personality of the character in the scene.  It helps me get into the character’s mindset.  For Of Gaea, it was a lot of rock and heavy rock.  My playlist was set up with artists like Death Cab for Cutie, The Birthday Massacre, Egypt Central, RED, Evans Blue, Skillet, Five Finger Death Punch, Sixx AM, etc etc.  ^_^

This playlist isn’t in any order and these are mostly songs for the mindset of the characters from the book rather than songs for the book itself.  So without further ado, here is my playlist for Of Gaea:

1.) Death Cab For Cutie - Pity And Fear
2.) The Birthday Massacre - In The Dark
                           3.) Emanuel - Scenotaph
                           4.) GPKism - Corpus
                           5.) Enya - Tempus Vernum
6.) My Darkest Days - Without You
7.) Omnisoul - Waiting (Save Your Life)
8.) Red - Never Be The Same
9.) Saliva - Bleed For Me
10.) Three Days Grace - Riot
11.) Lacuna Coil - Our Truth
12.) The Naked And Famous - Young Blood
13.) My Chemical Romance - Demolition Lovers

It’s a fair balance of genres, I think.  And, if you’re familiar with any of these songs, you’ll notice some of the lyrics contain a shared meaning.  I’m tickled with the results.
Again, thank you to Amy & KJ for having me and I look forward to hearing your opinions on my picks! ^_^

I would have to say that's quite the range! I love My Darkest Days, it is my absolute favorite, but I found I liked Three Days Grace, My Chemical Romance, Omnisoul...lol I like this list mostly. I cannot wait to read the book now, the playlist has me already. Thank you for sharing!! ~~Kj~~

About the Author:

Once upon a time, long, long ago, Victoria was born in sunny Florida, except it wasn’t sunny; it was the middle of the night. Midnight actually, well, two minutes past, but she tried really hard for midnight.
Victoria has been to twenty one schools in her lifetime. With all the continual switching around, she’s relied on her imagination for friends and books for close companions. In high school she remained apart from the whole and spent most of her time in the library either reading or writing.
Currently, Victoria has set down roots in New York with her family. She still reads and writes every day. She finished her debut novel Of Gaea in the winter of 2012 and is working on the sequel and many other projects.

Fate and Fury by Quinn Loftis

Fate and Fury by Quinn Loftis

Check out the awesome interview with Jen and Decebel - One you definitely do not want to miss.

Q: Hi Jen and Decebel. Thank you for taking time out of your schedules to chat with me.
J: “Well, it’s not like we have anything going on, I mean Dec is in hell, I’m pregnant and the Fates want my kid. It’s like the dullest life imaginable.” *throws her hands up in frustration*
D: “Easy baby”.*pats Jens leg*
Q: “I do hate to hear that you all are going through so much. And since I know you are quite busy let’s just jump right in. How are you feeling about being a mom?”
*I notice a subtle glow come over Jen’s face, and I can see the joy in her eyes.*
J: “I’m not real sure how I’m feeling. It’s like when you get on a ride at Six Flags and you’re so pumped. Then the ride starts to move and you begin to feel that little seed of apprehension in your stomach and you begin to think maybe this wasn’t my brightest plan but then you get to the top of the first huge hill and you can see the whole park and it’s beautiful, until you look forward and realize that now that you have climbed up, you must go down, right about then you are really wishing there was an emergency exit, but then you start to plummet and your stomach is in your throat and you can’t scream because there is no air in your lungs..”
D: “Jennifer, breathe.” *Jen is leaning forward now, her hand on his leg bracing herself and Dec is rubbing her back*
J: “Sorry about that, I have these little moments every now and then where I just need to um, like, flip the hell out and then I’m okay.”
Q: “Do you need more time to flip or are you good?”
*She holds her finger out to me and takes a few deep breaths*
J: “Okay I’m good. So basically, I’m terrified, thrilled, excited, terrified and so happy about our baby.”
Q: “You’ve summed up every new mothers feelings, so no worries you are not a weirdo.”
J: *snorts* well at least not for that reason.
Q: *chuckle* And she’s back.
J: *holds out her fist to me and I bump it* What else you got Red?”
Q: “Decebel, I know you are in a tight spot,”
J: *stares me down* “Correction Q, you have put him in a tight spot”
Q: *I hold up my hand* “Guilty, I have put him in a tight spot. After you found out about Jen and your baby, how have you been coping with the stress of being in the In-Between and knowing that if you get out you still have to figure out a way to save your little girl?”
D: *takes Jen’s hand in his and pulls her closer to him* “I can only solve one problem at a time Quinn.  There are no words for how happy I am that Jennifer carries my child and When I get out of the In-Between, I will save our baby girl.”
J: *after accepting Dec’s kiss on her forehead she turns to me* “Maybe you ought to write that down so you remember that he said he WILL save her Q. K?”
Q: *smile politely* “I heard him Jen.”
J: “Just so we’re clear.”
Q: “So let’s just fast forward for the readers, and let’s just say that everything works out. The guys get out, Decebel saves the baby, and for a time there is peace? What then?”
J: “Okay first of all there better be a hell of a lot more peace than just for a time” *uses finger quotes* “that said,  then I will get what every woman my age gets , to well and truly flip out at being 18, married and pregnant.” *looks over at Decebel* “Not that I would change it for anything B, you know that right?”
D: “I know baby, but you are young and so much has happened so fast.”
J: “Right? I mean six months ago I never knew I would grow a tail and have the very real possibility of needing flea protection…for myself!”
*I’m laughing, Decebel is chuckling and shaking his head.*
D: “Why with the fleas again?”
J: “Sorry” *shrugs* “habit. But really Red, we are going to take some time and fix up the nursery, and I’m going to make Decebel build a crib and changing table and then he is going to practice changing diapers, like, all the time.”
D: *looks at Jen* “Don’t you think you should practice as well?”
J: *shakes head* “Nope.”
D: “Why not?”
J: “Because I will be busy.”
D: *waits for her to elaborate and finally rolls his eyes* “With what?”
J: *grins at me and winks* “My breeding program.”
*I choke back a laugh as Decebel’s eyes widen*
D: “Please elaborate love.”
J: “I’m going to be busy helping Jacque, Sally, Crina, and Elle track the moon during the month so that they will know when to get freaky with their men so that their chances of having male’s is greater.”
*I’m rolling. Decebel is frowning*
D: “Why,” *clears throat* “do you feel it’s necessary to ensure they have males and why is it your job to handle this exactly?”
J: *rolls her eyes* “Well other than the obvious, hello, I’m me, who else would know this kind of stuff? But the other reason is because I want our baby girl to have a strong, smart mate, not to mention hot, so I figure our best chances at this point are with Costin, Sorin, Adam and Fane. That’s the hand I’ve been dealt and although it does have a Joker, somehow I will win the pot.”
*at this point I have to take a pee break because I’m laughing too hard for more questions*
D: *staring at his mate dumbfounded*
J: “Thanks for having us Q, but I think I’ve traumatized my man so I think we better call it a day.”
Q: “Thank you both for taking time to talk with me.”
*As they stand and start to walk out of the room Jen turns back to me.*
J: “Just and FYI Q, if you don’t get your ass in gear and start writing us out of this mess I’m not responsible for my actions and your life will become one of those movies that starts with the words Based on true events on the screen.”* shrugs * “Just sayin.”
